Opportunity to be involved

The Manager Cloud Operations plays a key role in supporting ARPC’s cloud IT infrastructure, network and operations. Reporting to the Director of Technology and Data Engineering, you will help ensure ARPC’s hosted environments are secure, reliable, well maintained and optimised. This is an opportunity for an experienced cloud professional to support ARPC’s Cloud Information Technology (IT) infrastructure, network, and operations by developing and maintaining effective build, deployment, monitoring, reporting, security and life cycle management solutions of ARPC’s hosted environments.

Role responsibilities

Cloud operations

• Ensure ARPC’s cloud services and infrastructure are operational, secure and effectively maintained.
• Design, implement, configure, document, manage and support Microsoft Azure Cloud Services.
• Optimise Azure cloud performance, capacity and consumption, including monitoring operational costs within budget.
• Maintain licensing compliance across products and services.
• Implement, test and administer disaster recovery, backup and recovery across M365 and Azure in line with ARPC SLAs, RTO and RPO commitments.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline processes and improve IT team productivity.
• Maintain ARPC’s security posture by ensuring applications, infrastructure and networks are well architected, supported by robust processes and aligned with secure-by-design principles.
• Review designs and support project teams to modernise and optimise workloads.
• Participate in ARPC corporate projects as required.

Network, firewall and infrastructure

• Apply strong cloud networking and security knowledge across DNS, DHCP and Group Policy.
• Maintain the security and integrity of ARPC’s networks across physical office locations and the Azure cloud environment.
• Deliver infrastructure projects aligned with ARPC’s IT strategy.

Reporting

• Prepare reports for key stakeholders, including the Senior Executive Team, providing visibility and assurance over key IT operational metrics and opportunities for enhancement.

Candidate attributes

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Information technology – Mandatory
  or
• Relevant intermediate/advanced cloud certifications – Mandatory

Experience

• Experience in standard Security Frameworks (ISO, ISM, PSPF etc) – Desired
• Knowledge of insurance, reinsurance banking or financial service – Desired

Technical capabilities

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in core networking and services such as Meraki, Zscaler and Cisco access management.
• Developing technology management knowledge coupled with energy and passion for the information technology profession
• Knowledge and hands-on experience in managing various Azure services, including but not limited to – Azure AD, Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps, Web Application Firewall (WAF), Microsoft Sentinel, App Services, SQL Databases, Virtual Machines, Exchange, Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, Power BI and M365 product suite
• Strong technology management and Azure cloud engineering capability, with a good understanding of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and Serverless Computing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex information, manage competing priorities and deliver work to time, cost and quality targets.
• Self-motivated and able to work autonomously as a subject matter expert while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
• Strong stakeholder management, customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, communicate effectively, negotiate and influence.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Sound commercial judgement, with the ability to make decisions considering outcomes, deadlines and budget.
• Strong attention to detail, time management and prioritisation skills.

Note

The role is based in Sydney CBD.
