ARPC Board acting appointments update

The Hon Dr Daniel Mulino MP, Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Financial Services, has appointed Ms Evelyn Horton, Ms Eilis Hurley, Ms Fran Raymond and Mr Kent Griffin as part-time acting members of the Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation (ARPC) Board for the period from 23 April 2026 up to and including 6 July 2026.
Ms Evelyn Horton, Ms Eilis Hurley and Ms Fran Raymond are currently serving ARPC Board members, and these appointments extend their terms. Mr Kent Griffin is a new appointment to the ARPC Board. He is an experienced financial services executive and company director, with senior leadership experience across insurance, banking and risk management. Mr Griffin is currently serving as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Hume Bank, having previously held roles as a Non‑Executive Director and Chair of the Bank’s Risk Committee. Prior to his current role, he was Managing Director & CEO of Acenda, and has also held senior roles including Chief Financial Officer at TAL Australia and Partner at EY.
ARPC also acknowledges the contribution of Board member Mr Oscar Shub, whose term expires on 22 April 2026. Mr Shub was appointed as a part-time member for a three-year term from 23 April 2023 to 22 April 2026. He is a part-time consultant with Clyde & Co and founded the firm’s Australian legal practice as a partner. Mr Shub is widely recognised as a senior statesman in the Australian insurance and reinsurance legal industry.
ARPC Chair Julie-Anne Schafer said, “On behalf of the Board, I wish to thank Oscar for his dedicated service and significant contribution to the organisation, particularly his expertise in insurance and reinsurance legal and contractual environments, and his deep knowledge of the insurance sector.”
These arrangements support continuity and stability in Board operations over the relevant period.
