Tropical Cyclone Bianca update
24 February 2025
You may have seen that the Bureau of Meteorology (Bureau) named Tropical Cyclone (TC) Bianca, that formed in the Indian Ocean, on 23 February 2025. It is the seventh cyclone to be named for the 2024/25 cyclone season in the Australian region.
TC Bianca developed well offshore of the Western Australian coast and Christmas Island, and is forecast to move in a west, south westerly direction. There are no direct impacts expected for the Australian mainland or Island communities. As such, ARPC has not received a notification from the Bureau, and therefore will not be declaring TC Bianca as a Cyclone Event under the Terrorism and Cyclone Insurance Act 2003.
For the latest information, you can refer to the Bureau’s Tropical Cyclone 7 Day Forecast (bom.gov.au).
