ARPC welcomes Joint Select Committee on Northern Australia’s first report on the Inquiry into the Cyclone Reinsurance Pool

Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation (ARPC) welcomes the Joint Select Committee on Northern Australia’s first report on the Inquiry into the Cyclone Reinsurance Pool.

On 11 October 2022, the Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Financial Services, the Hon. Stephen Jones MP, referred an inquiry into the operation and implementation of the Cyclone Reinsurance Pool (cyclone pool) to the Joint Select Committee on Northern Australia.

The inquiry and report focus specifically on the implementation and operation of the cyclone pool, including its effectiveness in addressing the issues with insurance outlined in previous Government inquiries.

ARPC looks forward to assisting the Australian Government in considering the recommendations.
