ARPC releases quarterly statistics

ARPC releases quarterly statistics

30 September 2025

ARPC has released its quarterly cyclone pool statistics for the June 2025 quarter. The report draws on data generated by the cyclone pool, which operates Australia wide, but targets support to cyclone-prone areas.

Key findings from the latest report show that, for the quarter ending 30 June 2025, the cyclone pool:

  • received 111,860 claims, with a total net incurred value (in nominal terms) of $1.12 billion. The majority of claims reported to the cyclone pool were attributed to Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
  • covers over 3.2 million buildings against financial loss from cyclones.
  • has annual in-force cyclone pool premiums of approximately $563 million for Home properties, $56 million for Strata, and $25 million for Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) properties.
  • provides annual discounts for Home properties for property level mitigation activities of $8.2 million.

Background on the cyclone pool

The cyclone pool was established in July 2022 and is intended to help make insurance more affordable and more available in areas with medium to high cyclone risk for eligible policies across Home, Strata, and Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
