ARPC announces new appointments

Dr Chris Wallace, Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation, (ARPC) has today announced three senior appointments including: John Park as Chief Financial Officer; Joshua Everson as General Manager – Governance, Risk and Compliance; and Alison Savary as Manager – Finance. The appointments will complete the transfer of ARPC’s office from Canberra to Sydney.

John Park was most recently Financial Controller of Great Lakes Australia, part of the Munich Re Group. He has extensive experience in the insurance and reinsurance industries and will support ARPC’s role as a reinsurer. His previous roles include CFO of Mortgage Guaranty Insurance Corporation (MGIC) and Finance Manager and Company Secretary at General Re. Mr Park is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University and a Master of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management.  John starts with ARPC on 1 June.

Joshua Everson was previously Director – Financial Markets Regulatory Change at Westpac Institutional Bank. He has more than 10 years corporate and government sector experience in compliance and governance and will support ARPC’s role as a government agency. In particular, he worked as a policy adviser and compliance professional for the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX); the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and the Department of the Treasury. Mr Everson holds a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from the University of Newcastle. Joshua starts with ARPC on 5 May.

Alison Savary comes to ARPC from NSW Treasury where she was Head of Crown Entity Finance. She has a solid background in state and federal government finance roles including the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development and the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC). She will support ARPC’s role as a public financial corporation. Ms Savary is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting from the University of Canberra and a combined Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Science from the Australian National University. Alison starts with ARPC on 26 April.

“I would also like to take the opportunity to thank our Canberra transition team:  Fran Raymond; Alison Kelly; Sujit Mukherjee and Samual Roberts for their valuable contributions to ARPC.  They have also helped to make ARPC’s move from Canberra to Sydney very successful.”
