Opportunity to be involved
Reporting to the Executive Manager, Claims Assessment & Audit, this role supports ARPC’s Claims Assessment, Audit and Fraud function by delivering high‑quality reinsurance claims services, maintaining strong insurer customer relationships and contributing to claims audit and fraud activities. This is a 12‑month non‑ongoing contract based in Sydney CBD.
Role responsibilities
Claims administration:
- Apply ARPC’s claims policies, procedures and service standards
- Receive, validate and process reinsurance claims in accordance with guidelines
- Maintain accurate data within ARPC’s claims management and reporting systems
- Escalate ambiguous or unusual matters where required
- Ensure claims are managed within agreed service levels
- Identify potential fraud and escalate appropriately
- Maintain complete records and prepare claims activity reports
- Contribute to process improvements
Senior Claims Officer–specific activities:
- Support the delivery of the Claims Audit and Review program.
- Identify risks, inefficiencies or non‑compliance and recommend improvements.
Risk Capability:
- Contribute to embedding effective risk management practices, supporting a culture of openness, accountability and continuous improvement
Other:
- Support onboarding for insurer customers and deliver high‑quality customer service
- Role model ARPC’s Values, Code of Conduct and Capability Framework
- Maintain contemporary knowledge of insurance and reinsurance trends
Candidate Attributes
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification – desired
Experience
Mandatory:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in claims administration within the insurance industry
Desired:
- Exposure to reinsurance
- Exposure to general insurance
Technical capabilities
- Strong understanding of insurance/reinsurance and general claims processes
- Sound analytical skills and commercial judgement
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- High attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and within a team
- Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships with a customer‑service focus
