Ms Joan Fitzpatrick, Chair of the Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation, today announced the appointment of Dr Chris Wallace to the role of Chief Executive Officer of the organisation. Dr Wallace will take up the position on 9 December 2013 and replaces Mr David Matcham who retired on 4 October 2013 at the end of his three year term.
Dr Wallace is currently the General Manager, Benefits Management with health insurer HCF. In addition to his extensive leadership and managements skills, Dr Wallace brings to ARPC over 25 years’ experience in general insurance, workers’ compensation and health insurance. Dr Wallace has a doctorate in economics specialising in insurance pricing and insurance strategy. He is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and a Certified Insurance Professional.
